YouCai Terms of Service

Welcome to YouCai. These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form an agreement between you and Maaker.AI ("we", "us") regarding the YouCai app. By downloading, installing, or using YouCai, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the app and uninstall it.
These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy — the Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data, and these Terms set out the rights and obligations of both parties.
1. Description of service
YouCai is a fridge vegetable management tool. Its core features include:
- Manual entry or AI photo recognition to log vegetables in your fridge
- Expiry reminders (local notifications at T-3, T-1, and T-0 days)
- Consumption logs ("cooked it / tossed it") and statistics
- Vegetable encyclopedia (storage tips and recipes for 50+ vegetables)
- Family sharing (up to 4 members syncing the same fridge)
We iterate on the app continuously, and may add, adjust, or retire certain sub-features. We will give advance notice in the app or on this page.
2. Account
- An account is required to use the core features (email + password / Sign in with Apple)
- YouCai is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use this app
- Please keep your account credentials safe. You are responsible for all activity under your account (including actions taken by others using your account)
- Accounts may not be transferred or shared with others, except via "Family Sharing" where you may invite up to 3 additional members to the same fridge
3. Subscription and payment
YouCai's basic features are free. Free users can use AI recognition 5 times per day.
YouCai Pro offers the following paid tiers (actual pricing as shown in the App Store):
- Lifetime Membership: one-time payment, permanently unlocks all Pro features (unlimited AI recognition / advanced encyclopedia / 4-member family sharing, etc.). Price locked forever — existing lifetime members will never be charged more
- Monthly / Annual Subscription: auto-renewing via Apple's App Store. You may cancel anytime in iOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions
Payment and refunds are handled by Apple:
- All payments are processed through the Apple App Store. We do not access your credit card or Apple ID password
- For refunds, submit your request directly to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com
- Auto-renewal terms, pricing change notifications, and other rules follow Apple's standard terms
If a payment goes through but your Pro status does not activate, please use "Profile > Restore Purchases" in the app, or email support@maaker.cn.
4. User content
- The vegetable records, consumption logs, notes, and other data you enter (collectively, "User Content") belong to you
- We access your User Content only to the extent necessary to provide the app's services (such as cloud sync, statistics generation, and AI recognition)
- We do not use your User Content to train AI models, and we do not sell or transfer it to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details
- You can export all of your User Content as JSON in one click via "Profile > Export Data"
5. Acceptable use
When using YouCai, you must not:
- Violate any laws or regulations, or infringe the lawful rights of others
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, crack, or bypass the paywall of the app
- Automate or batch-invoke our APIs (including the AI recognition endpoint) in a way that affects other users
- Abuse the AI recognition quota (e.g., repeatedly registering new accounts to farm free quota)
- Upload illegal, violent, pornographic, or fraudulent content via family sharing or feedback channels
- Impersonate others or falsify account information
If you violate any of the above, we may suspend or terminate your account. Any subscriptions already paid for will be handled in accordance with Apple's refund policy.
6. AI recognition disclaimer
YouCai's AI photo recognition is powered by third-party vision models (relayed via OpenRouter). Recognition results may be inaccurate or incomplete. Please verify the vegetable type and quantity yourself before confirming entries.
Expiry reminders are computed mechanically from the "expected shelf life + storage date" you enter, and do not constitute any food safety guarantee. Whether to eat a given vegetable is your own judgment (check color, smell, and look for mold). If a vegetable shows any abnormality, discard it directly — do not eat it.
YouCai is not liable for any food safety issues caused by AI recognition errors or expiry estimation.
7. Intellectual property
- The YouCai app, brand, logo, UI design, watercolor illustrations, and copy are all owned by Maaker.AI and are protected by copyright law
- Without written authorization, you may not copy, mirror, or create derivative works from this app or any of its components for commercial purposes
- Your User Content (vegetable records, etc.) belongs to you, but you grant us the rights necessary to use it for the purpose of providing services to you
8. Service changes and termination
- We may upgrade, add, or retire certain features. If a major feature is retired, we will give 30 days' in-app notice
- You may stop using the app at any time. To delete your account and all data, email support@maaker.cn with a deletion request, and we will fully purge your data within 7 days
- If force majeure events occur (earthquake, policy changes, upstream service providers ceasing service, etc.) and prevent the app from continuing to operate, we may suspend or terminate the service without being in breach of these Terms
9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We make no express or implied warranties of uninterrupted operation, bug-free behavior, or fitness for a particular purpose
- For functionality unavailable due to interruptions of third-party services (Apple App Store / OpenRouter / network carriers, etc.), we will use reasonable efforts to restore service but accept no liability
- Losses caused by force majeure or by your violation of these Terms shall be borne by you
- In any case, our aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you have actually paid for the App in the preceding 12 months (zero for free users)
10. Changes to these Terms
If we make material changes to these Terms (such as adding a new subscription tier or changing the liability clauses), we will give prominent notice in the app and require you to confirm again the next time you launch it. Continued use means you accept the new Terms; if you do not accept them, please contact us to deactivate your account.
11. Governing law and dispute resolution
The conclusion, performance, interpretation, and dispute resolution of these Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (excluding the laws of Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, and Taiwan Region).
Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation between the parties. If negotiation fails, either party may bring a lawsuit before the Beijing Internet Court.
