Memento Privacy Policy

Short version: Memento collects no data. No sign-up, no accounts, nothing leaves your device.

1. What we don't collect

No personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
No location data
No access to contacts, photos, microphone, or camera
No advertising identifiers (IDFA) and no tracking across apps or websites
No usage analytics, telemetry, or crash reports

2. Where your data lives

Everything you enter in Memento—birthday, life expectancy, milestones, language preference, saved quotes—is stored only in the app's private storage on your iPhone. Nothing is sent over the network.

If you add Memento widgets to your Home Screen or Lock Screen, the same information is shared with the widgets through an on-device App Group container so they can display your countdown and daily quote. It never leaves your device.

Deleting the app deletes all of it.

3. No third-party SDKs

Memento does not include any analytics, advertising, push notification, or tracking SDK. Fonts are bundled with the app and are not downloaded at runtime.

4. Purchases

Memento is a paid download. Payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store; we never see your payment details.

5. Sharing

When you choose to share a quote, Memento creates the image on your device and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes next is up to you.

6. Children

Memento is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

7. Changes to this policy

If a future version of Memento changes how data is handled (for example, by adding cloud sync), we will say so in the app and update this page before that version ships.
