AI Voice Notes Privacy Policy

TL;DR: Recordings and notes stay on your device — never uploaded, never synced. Only the plain transcribed text (after on-device speech-to-text) is sent once to our AI service for structuring (title / summary / todos), with results returned and the text immediately discarded — no storage, no model training.
1. What we collect
AI Voice Notes is designed to "collect minimal, keep local":
- Audio recordings (local only): Audio files you create by tapping "Start Recording" are stored in your app's iOS sandbox (Application Support directory). Never uploaded.
- Transcribed text (one-time transmission): Audio is converted to text using Apple's on-device Speech Framework. The resulting text is sent once to our AI service for structuring (generating title, summary, todos, tags). Results are returned and the text is immediately discarded — no storage, no logging, no model training.
- Subscription status (via RevenueCat): If you subscribe to Pro, we use RevenueCat to verify subscription state. RevenueCat receives an anonymous device identifier (for fraud prevention), not your name, email, or note content.
2. What we do NOT collect
- No personal identifiers (name, email, phone, ID — no account required)
- No location data
- No contacts, photos, calendar, or health data
- No advertising identifiers (IDFA) or tracking identifiers
- No usage analytics, click streams, or third-party tracking
- No crash logs (no crash reporter SDK)
3. Where data is stored
- Audio recordings: iOS app sandbox (Application Support), accessible only by this app. Deleted when you uninstall.
- Note metadata (title / summary / todos / tags / transcript text): Local AsyncStorage. Deleted when you uninstall.
- Transcript transmission to AI service uses HTTPS encryption.
4. Third-party services
AI Voice Notes uses the following third-party services:
- AI structuring: Transcribed text is sent to our own Supabase Edge Function (
rxcrvznwlqcaqrlaxmdf.supabase.co), processed by Google Gemini API. Google does not use this text for model training (per Gemini API Terms). Our service stores no transcript text.
- RevenueCat: For in-app subscription management. Receives anonymous subscription events only, no note content. See RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
- Apple Speech Recognition: Uses Apple's on-device speech recognition. On older devices may fall back to Apple servers. See Apple Privacy Policy.
5. iOS permissions
AI Voice Notes requests the following iOS permissions:
NSMicrophoneUsageDescription (Microphone): For recording voice notes.NSSpeechRecognitionUsageDescription (Speech Recognition): For converting recordings to text (on-device).
We do not request camera, photos, location, contacts, or other permissions.
6. Data deletion
You can at any time:
- Delete a single note from the note detail or list view
- Wipe all local data via Settings → Danger Zone → Clear All Notes
- Uninstall the app to remove everything
Because transcript text is not stored on our servers, no "delete my data" request flow is needed.
7. Children's information
AI Voice Notes is not designed for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect children's information. If you are a parent or guardian and discover that a child has used the app and have concerns, please contact us via email below.
8. Policy changes
If a future version requires adjusting the privacy policy (e.g., adding cloud sync), we will notify users prominently in-app and update the "Last updated" date on this page. Significant changes will prompt users to re-read the policy on app launch.
